How do I stop the blinker noise from sounding even when the blinker is off?

I have a 2000 chevy blazer and the blinker sound is always on! Its making me crazy!!! I'm hoping its something simple, the truck runs great so I don't think its worth taking it to a mechanic who will charge me $200 to flick a switch or twist a knob. Please, someone help before I go insane!!

It does not look like the standard two pronged round flasher used on many cars, it is actually a rectangular relay located under the dash on the passenger side. Just flip on the turn signal and follow your ears.



If the flasher is clicking with the turn signals and hazard flashers turned off, the problem is very likely the Multifunction Switch. This is an assembly, bolted to the instrument column, and includes the turn signal switch, hazard switch, high/low switch, and the wiper switch. It is a common failure part, I've replaced a lot of them, many under warranty. There was a recall on them. The labor time to change it is 1.4hours, GM part # is 26100838 for a tilt wheel, costs $432.92. It's 26100837 for a non tilt, costs $195.02. You can probably get an aftermarket one for about $65. You'll need some small Torx and inverted Torx tools to do the job. With the right tools, you don't have to remove the steering wheel to replace it. There is a Torx bolt on the bottom left side that backs out in to the steering wheel. If you do not have a circuit tester, go buy a cheap tester at Radio Shack. These can be invaluable in hunting and finding electrical gnomes in the car and in the house.

I have a '98 Chevy Malibu that I inheired from my Grandma. The dash lights have never worked. All the warning lights work as well as the backlight on the tripometer. However, the lights that illumate the dash so that you can see your speed, rpm, fuel level, etc., don't work. I've changed the fuse at least three times, but think it might be the light bulbs themselves. The manual doesn't show me how to fix it, just tells me to change the fuse. When pulling it out, be cautious of wires in the back, try to disconnect them, and your gauges should be free to take away. Then, on the back side is a set of thumb tabs, with the bulbs inside. Twist them, usually counterclockwise about a quarter turn, and pull. The bulb is held into the tab. pull the bulb, and get your replacements, or check them to see if they are bad. Fuse or cigarette lighter?

So I was having a problem with my cigarette lighter. So, I changed the fuse, and it worked again. Thing is, it will only work one time. Once I unplugged something, the fuse blows. This has happened several times, and I檝e put a new fuse in each time. This leads me to believe the problem is my cigarette lighter, not my fuse. My left blinker isn't blinking anymore, and the right one just stays on.



I gave it a boot once and it started to work fine for a few weeks but has screwed up again.



I tend to believe its the fuse - but have no idea how to change it or what part I'd get.



Could anyone tell me where its located and how to get at it?

I should probably change the bulbs at some point but they work fine I think that they fuse just might be partially fried and thats why it wont work properly.

I have a P reg 1996 Toyota Corolla Solaire 5 Door hatchback (1.3 litre). its Right-hand drive (UK).

The CD player, Clock, Cigarette Lighter and the button to move the side mirrors don't work.

How do I change the fuse and where from?

I checked the fuse under the bonnet where it says %26quot;CDS%26quot; and i've been told by someone that its fine, its not blown.
